Critical Thinking Questions:

Interpret: Why does Equiano blame the illness aboard the ship on the “improvident avarice” of the traders?
Eqiano blamed the illness aboard because traders didn't care about what they slaves went through they just wanted to get as much slaves as they could. They cared more about how much money they would receive so thats why they stacked them as if nothing not caring about the emotional and physical affects.

Support from the text: How can you tell that Equiano has a great zest for life despite his assertion that he wanted to die?
Equiano has a great enjoyment for life because he had never seen most of the things he saw, after he was taking out the ship. For example when he saw the houses he quotes "What struck me first was that the houses were built with stories." The things Equiano saw where things he hadn't see. "I was still more astonished on seeing people on horseback" he saw horse, houses, etc. which amazed him.
